Surveying Services with a New Name
ALPHA Survey Group is beginning a new chapter in its' evolution as a provider of surveying services. Originally established as Alpha Survey and Engineering Associates, we're continuing the work that started over 27 years ago providing surveying services to a broad base of public and private clients in support of their design, permitting and construction needs. In addition to surveying, Alpha provides engineering design services through in-house or external resources in support of small residential and commercial projects.
With the creation of ALPHA Survey Group, LLC, yet another chapter has begun. ALPHA continues to be a forward thinking company focused on responsiveness to its clients' needs by consistently delivering accurate and quality services.

Land Conservation
ALPHA has performed boundary surveys of tracts of land consisting of tens to hundreds of acres for numerous municipal conservation commissions, the Wildlands Trust of SE Mass, the MA Department of Conservation and Recreation and Department of Fish and Game, and US Dept of Natural Resources. Surveys have also been performed for private landowners in support of placing Farm or Conservation Restrictions on their property.

Landscape & Urban Parks
Existing Conditions/topographic and boundary surveys have been performed of numerous parks throughout eastern and southern MA in support of parkland, athletic field and spray park design. Facilities include municipal, state and Federally owned facilities.

A Transition in Ownership
ALPHA Survey Group continues a long history of surveying services with a new leader. Jim Peterson purchased the company in 2017 with a new vision - to be focused on clients through responsiveness, accuracy, and quality services. After many years of managing the Survey Department of a multi-disciplinary/multi-office Boston based professional services firm, combined with several more years of survey management (including over 6 years at the former Alpha), Jim is well equipped to realize his vision and establish ALPHA as a leading survey firm in Southern New England.
An Evolution in Client Service & Markets Served
Building on Alpha's past services to public and private clients, particularly engineering and construction firms, there has been a deliberate shift in focus. The public sector, which had always been an important client base, continues in importance. ALPHA's existing transportation, environmental/coastal, and utility experience provides a unique opportunity to re-focus ALPHA on it's client's project needs particularly with regards to data collection accuracy and the quality of digital deliverables.
